Bob Stelter

Bob Stelter's illustrious career in law enforcement began in 1983 when he joined the Milwaukee
Police Department. Over the course of 26 years, he dedicated himself to serving and protecting
the community, rising through the ranks to retire as a Lieutenant of Detectives in 2009. His
tenure with the department was marked by a relentless pursuit of justice, particularly in the
areas of drug trafficking organizations, robbery crews, homicide, and public corruption cases.
During his time with the Milwaukee Police Department, Mr. Stelter was assigned to several
specialized units, each focusing on distinct facets of criminal activity. He served in the Gang
Crimes Unit, the Robbery Task Force, the Heroin Task Force, and finally, he culminated his
career as the supervisor of the Milwaukee HIDTA (High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area) Drug
Gang Task Force. In this role, he oversaw a diverse team comprising officers, detectives, and
special agents from multiple municipalities as well as federal agencies including the FBI, ATF,
and Homeland Security.

As the head of the Drug Gang Task Force, Mr. Stelter honed his expertise in dismantling drug
trafficking organizations operating in Southeast Wisconsin. His efforts were characterized by
meticulous wiretap investigations conducted in collaboration with the United States Attorney’s
Office of the Eastern District of Wisconsin. These investigations played a crucial role in
disrupting illegal drug activities and bringing perpetrators to justice.

Following his retirement from the Milwaukee Police Department, Mr. Stelter transitioned to a
new role with the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in 2010. Over the next decade,
until his retirement in 2020, he continued to apply his investigative skills to a range of complex
cases. His work included investigating robberies, with a particular focus on bank robberies and
organized robbery crews. He also delved into white-collar crimes such as bank fraud, public
corruption, and elder abuse. A notable aspect of his responsibilities at the District Attorney’s Office was investigating officer use of force incidents that resulted in death within Milwaukee County. This critical work involved thorough and impartial investigations to ensure accountability and transparency in law
enforcement actions.

After relocating to Florida in August 2020, Mr. Stelter obtained his private investigator license,
leveraging his extensive experience to continue serving the community in a new capacity. As a
